Wendy

"Hi, my name is Wendy Whiting.  I taught in the ASL program at Vincennes University (VU).  The campus was located on the Indiana School for the Deaf grounds. I worked there from 1992 until 2014.  Brittany Parchman was one of my students.  She was admitted into the VU ASL program in the fall of 2012.  She was in my ASL 1 class.  I was very impressed with her.  She was an optimal student.  She was serious about her work and highly motivated.  She had another teacher for ASL 2 and 3 but was in my class again for ASL 4.  At that time, it was 2014 and she was pregnant.  This was her last semester, and she was in her final classes of the program.  Even with being very pregnant, she was still an optimal student.  She consistently came to class and continued to be involved in all activities.  She always made sure she was signing correctly and had a beautiful attitude.  The first Thursday in May 2014 was graduation.  Brittany came to the graduation that night and was full term.  She partook in all the festivities and then the very next day she had her baby.  It was perfect timing.  She was a very good student and was always involved with the Deaf community as well.  She has some Deaf friends that are her age too.  I would highly recommend her as an interpreter.  She is very good.  The Deaf community will love her.  Thank you."
